Why most marketing advice fails small creators (and what actually works)
An Old, Broken Rule
Traditional marketing tactics canβt compete with the new way of doing things.
Most old marketing advice is based on crafting a big campaign to push people toward a specific actionβusually, to reach for their wallets. This has worked well for established brands because they have the budget to distribute their message to a massive audience, turning it all into a numbers game.
Youβve heard the thinking: βIf we just increase website conversion by 1%, weβll make X amount of money.β These tactics, however, rely on a constant stream of new customers for success.
As a small creator, you canβt compete with those big budgets. But you can compete by being different. You can win with authenticity.
You see, humans love to hang out with people like us. This works especially well for creating communities of like-minded people with a common goal. By putting your authentic self out there, you naturally attract your people. The ones who will stick around, support your work, and naturally buy from you. Without needing to chase new traffic sources for every launch.
They arenβt just customers; they become a loyal community that wants to see you succeed.
We buy from people we feel we know.
If you want to create your own community that supports your work, I put together a free email course that shows you how to do that here.
