Tasting life twice
β
What if you could live every day twice?
I stumbled upon a quote yesterday from a writer named Anais Nin:
βWe write to taste life twiceβ β Anais Nin
Iβll be honest, I wasnβt sure who she was but the quote is quite profound.
You see, I only started a daily writing habit two months ago, but I can already see the benefits that this has on me.
First, like Anais said, I get to relive the best moments and make sense of the messy ones just by putting them on paper.
Second, I see the life with eyes of writing it. This is not like a casual spectator but more like an observant, that pays attention to its surroundings.
third, It allows me to clarify the thoughts in my head, write them on paper and look at them with a new perspective.
And beyond that, the biggest surprise has been how much faster I learn. I have to break down my thoughts, arrange them logically, and explain them back to myself. That process makes new concepts stick in a way that simply reading or thinking never could.
This simple habit has been a game-changer for experiencing everything more intensely. If youβre curious about starting your own practice, subscribe here for daily insight to help you get started.
