Most people spend 40 years earning their freedom. Hereβs the shortcut
Keep looking, always.
Working a job you hate to save for retirement is a terrible business plan for your life.
So many people are chasing financial freedom with one goal in mind: to escape a job they donβt enjoy. The plan is to suffer through the daily grind now so they can finally be free during the last few years of their lives.
Look, thatβs just not a good deal. There has to be a better way.
When you find an activity you genuinely enjoy, everything changes. Youβre no longer dreading the alarm clock. Instead, you feel a spark of excitement to wake up and get to work on a project that actually means something to you.
Years ago, Steve Jobs said it perfectly in his famous Stanford speech. He said your work will fill a huge part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work.
And, he added, the only way to do great work is to love what you do.
You have to find what you love. If you havenβt found it yet, thatβs okay. Donβt settle. The key is to keep looking. Every single one of us is especially good at something. Usually an activity that we feel passionate about. You just have to find it.
When you finally align your work with what you love, your work becomes a rewarding and gratifying experience. It stops being a cage to escape from and starts being a playground to build in.
